Weekly Photo Challenge: From Above

7 May

Taking photographs from above, seeing things from another perspective. I love doing so when I take (unprofessional) snaps of food, photos I share on my social networks. I believe by now, everyone’s doing it.

Like when we celebrated a colleague’s birthday at Khansama Restaurant last week, a couple of my colleagues snapped and shared their lunch on Instagram. Sharing, whether we like it or not, is here to stay.

Pots after pots of curry lined the buffet spread. They all looked the same to me, except for the food labels that were in Indian. Good thing the names were translated in English. 🙂 I helped myself to a serving of chicken curry, some veggies in curry sauce, prata (a flour-based pancake) and some fish crackers (or prawn?).

Of course, I wolfed them down with Coke. Who doesn’t love Coke?!

I didn’t skip dessert, although I’m not really sure what this is called. It’s not too sweet and served warm. I’m not sure if this is Rava Kesari (cream of wheat) from what I saw on the Internet.

On another occasion, we enjoyed a Peranakan (of Chinese and Malay descent) buffet lunch. I snapped a picture of these Malay desserts because they look a lot like our desserts in the Philippines. They almost tasted similar except that these are not too sweet but I like them. No wonder when I go back home and try authentic Filipino desserts, they taste too sweet for me — something that I’m not used to anymore.

Oh, and let’s not forget my first attempt at juicing last week. Here’s the green gooey juice that I made with celery as the main ingredient.

Drink up! Cheers!

I got this gigantic Twix for my friend for his birthday. I snapped a picture of it beside my iPad for size reference. Well. it’s not really giant, it’s 10 packs of Twix, so 20 sticks of chocolatey goodness!

Twix, one of my favourites!

Lastly, here’s to a flavourful night of chicken satay (S$0.50 per piece),  tasty peanut sauce and white rice. Yum!

My comfort food.

Happy eating!

Oh my! Now I’m hungry! Actually I am drinking my green smoothie (no celery, kale instead) as I am reading this. Great post!
